Chance Encounter
I thoroughly enjoy watching bears and ravens interact, unlikely friends though they may be. Yet they exist as buddies, the ravens always careful to give the grizzly enough space.
Back to the Beginning
Primordial chaos rises In a rush of noisy air. The voices told me It would be easy or It would be impossible. I believed them. I have yet to discover Which it is for me, As the colors swirl And move like lightning.
Cloud Warrior
Hawk Wind
Sometimes a shape etches itself into our minds, a wordless mystery taking form before our wondering eyes. We are left to consider what that shape created, before it whizzed beyond our sight.
Anemone Dreams
I used this blue anemone as a painting demonstration for my online video class, Luminous Flowers in Acrylics.
Rushing Water
The great Western rivers typically have faster currents and rushing water, celebrated in this rainbow trout head painting.
Cody’s Rainbow
I never knew her. I heard she crossed the rainbow, danced her best but then her body surrendered to disease. I never knew her, but I painted a rainbow, a fish flashing colors in shimmering light, swiftly gone in the river, like Cody.
Something in the Air
Stirrings of the spirit Shimmer in translucent air, Something comes quietly, Great changes carried With the soft touch Of a feather. Transformation ripples And cascades in unstoppable Torrents of energy.
Raven Heart
The bird stands, grounded, listening to the silence of the sky, awaiting some mute signal both unseen and unheard. Raven takes rainbows of light, weaves color into deep black feathers, waiting once again to merge into the limitless sky.
